Destination California.

Hi everyone!

I’m back. I’ve been meaning to get our trip down on the blog, but getting all the pictures together took some time. And well, here it is. All in one place.

For those of you who don’t follow. This June we celebrate 10 years of marriage. Hope we make it ;)  Ha, jk. Anyways, we decided last fall to travel either to the Caribbean where we honeymooned, oh so many years ago, or someplace else. Last year we took out family to Mexico/California, and we had thought it would be fun to travel back just us. And Josh had also traveled to San Fran a few years back for business, and told me the next time he travels there he’s bringing me. Yay =) So we thought we’d do a So Cal and San Fran trip to celebrate our 10th Anniversary. So we did it. And now it’s over a month passed. Sad that it’s over, glad we have the memories. =)

We first flew Boston to San Diego, Wednesday Afternoon. Sans kids. Just us. Just like the good ol days. It was so nice to travel and be together. Every married couple with kids NEEDS to do something like this. Get away, like far away. And enjoy each other. And that we did. And yes we absolutely love our kids. (Just in case you don't know us and are reading this)

Bye Bye!!

We stayed on Coronado Island, if you’ve never been you have got to add it to your bucket list of places to go. Ok? Ok. What a beautiful island.

CORONADO, SAN DIEGO, CA

Our treat when we arrived Wednesday evening. <3

Inside our room at The Coronado Marriott and Spa Resort.

 The view from our balcony.

We did a run/walk to breakfast. (Panera) Love all the green!

Right near our resort...we spotted over a dozen DeLoreans, oh you know... the Back to the Future car. They were on a World Tour and were stopping by close by our resort. Super random but fun moment. I love the movie. So this was fun for me.

Calla Lilies along a street on Coronado. Swoon...they were our wedding flowers.

 Inside our resort. There were birds in the cage in the distance.

 There were flamingos at the resort! {Enter happy dance.}

 Found a hammock at our resort. Got some Vitamin D.
Now this is living!

One for each of us. {See the bridge in the background? That's the bridge to get to the island.}

Sitting by the pool.
It's actually behind me. But it wasn't warm enough to swim, so I decided this spot would do.
{Can I go back?}

 We took the bus to see Hotel Del Coronado.
Or "The Del" if you are talking to locals.

Hottie allert! The one on the left. ;)
{Guess it was a little sunny}

We decided on a whim to go to the zoo. So we UBERed our way there. How fun!
(We actually used UBER 3 times on this trip.
 It was fun, and quicker and cheaper than other transportation)

Here is one of the Pandas I was crushing on.
Literally sat and just watched her & her daughter for awhile.
What incredible and beautiful creatures.

An elephant getting weighed. It was in Kgs. Nice and lite. Super neat to watch, as the elephant goes willingly onto the scale, so this moment isn't guaranteed every visit.

Lunchtime at the zoo. Hit up the healthiest place we could find.
Oh man, I want that burger right now.

Oh, just getting off my private helicopter. ;)
{AKA a place for kids to try one out for fun, yes I am a kid.}

Not too exciting, but neat to see a real live Koala.

I thought this was a neat photo. Lots of cool lizards a the zoo.
{photo cred: my super hot husband - I should say he took most of these pics}

A ride across the zoo, what a neat view from the top!

I wanted to take this little guy home. No seriously! He was THAT cute!
{He wouldn't let me :( }

A little story behind this photo: A little boy is holding the leaf you see here and is showing it to the baby gorilla. And the gorilla is trying to grab it. It was a super fun moment to watch. I loved the interaction between the two littles, little boy...little gorilla.

From the zoo we took the bus to the Gaslamp District where we ate dinner. And then on our way back to the resort, it was just across the bay...we got a real treat when the ferry we were taking wasn't busy, as in we were the only ones. So, we got a small boat ride across the bay. It was super fun and a neat view to see the city and island from the water.

And next onto...

SAN FRANCISCO, CA
We took a flight Saturday am from San Diego to San Fran.

Our hotel was right by the trolley turn around. Super fun to see.

It down poured the first evening. Like REALLY DOWN POURED till out pants/feet were soaked. But we still payed the money for the cable car and went to get dinner by the pier.

Driving around San Fran. (The hills were incredible!)

Driving across the Golden Gate Bridge.

And we walked it. Almost made it the entire way, but ya nature was calling.
should have planned to just jog/run it. But it was fun to do.

Across the bridge about 45 mins we arrived at Muir Woods. (RedWood trees!!)

Absolutely breathtaking!

Taking the beetle down Lumbared Street.

 Crazy crooked street.

We found FULL HOUSE!! Woot! =)

Walking around the warf.

Celebrity citing! ;)

The famous seal lions.

Watching a show at the Pier.

China Town. Had no idea just how large it was. We decided to stop and have lunch here.
Good choice.

We stopped here. Since it actually started to downpour literally the moment we bought our tickets to the Botanical Gardens.  It's literally a hole in the wall place. And I got to grab a delicious chai.
The rain passed and then it was blue skys, yay!

San Francisco Botanical Gardens.

Oh you know the timer on the phone picture. Ha.

And after a crazy red eye flight...we arrived home.
{Yawn*}

Actually the time difference of three hours from California to the east coast was not bad after the red eye. So if you want to get jet lag fixed right away, do the red eye on the way home. Boom!

I'm so blessed to get to live life with Josh. Yes, true story! And getting to enjoy a fun trip like this is something I'm very thankful we were able to do together. It's cool that through the thick and thin, I would not want any one else beside me than him. I love that I can say that and that it's true.The Lord truly gets all the credit there.

Let me know if you have any questions. I know a little more about California than I ever did. Like I really know so much, because I went twice. Ha! Well, doesn't hurt to ask. I might just know.

Happy Day Everyone.
Go and be a blessing to someone today. <3
