Our Family Went to Mexico - part tres

Hi friends.

So if you've been following my blog you'll know this is the third and final one of our trip to Mexico.  I know I know, it's been awhile. And I really procrastinated finishing this one. Hey, the weather is so super nice. But I needed to get this one finished before too long. So here we go...

If you want to read the other parts go back to this one. Or if you missed the second one go here.

To begin these last few photos are a little more of what we did at the Day Care.

It's laundry time. Bethany and Karen, from the team, giving of their time to hang out the wet laundry. What a view, huh?

This is one of the classrooms. Each class has a certain age group. It start with babies as young as a few weeks, in the nursery, and goes all the way up to Kindergarten. The Kindergarteners go to school for a few hours each day as well.

And also there is Case De Hugar, for lack of better words an orphanage (most of the kids do have living parents, so we would compare it to foster care here in the States).  The house parents are doing an incredible job loving on each of these kids and young adults.  We got to meet the kids here. What a great bunch! This building (the one you see above) is being rented. But if you look at the facebook page, a brand new building is being built on site as you read this. Click {here} for the latest update, scroll down to May 13th for a photo of the new Casa De Hugar. It's pretty amazing how much they have done since we were there in January. Note: there was nothing even started when we were there in January, just a picture of where they wanted to put it. And they are planning on moving in soon. As long as they get all the money they need to finish. If you feel led to help. Please feel free to contact them. They also do child sponsorship. Click {here} if you can help or if you want to check it out.

It's lunch time (or Breakfast, not sure). The kids get two meals a day here. Some of these kids may only get one meal a day normally, so it's so cool that they get two and two very good nutritious meals. Lots of beans, rice, and corn tortillas, and oh so delicious! (remember the photo of us eating in the kitchen, this is the same room)

You can see my Josh and the two kids at the bottom left. This was on Wednesday at one of their first church services put on to bring in the community. Clare led worship, with some of the Casa de Hugar kids joining her. It was all in Spanish, with some English translation when the sermon/message came along. They truly love the community here, and it will be neat to see this small group grow as time goes.

Here we are saying our good byes {enter sad face}. Wayne and Clare are sitting with one of their dogs. I was in awe of what Wayne and Clare are doing. Giving of themselves, so that people in another country (Wayne and Clare are Canadian citizens) to give the people in this area of Ensenada a chance at a different future. And we know the babies need to be cared for, loved on, and even more than that a safe place. When families are strengthened the community is. The fruits of their labor may never been seen in their lifetime completely, but we know they are impacting so many generations.

Thank you Wayne and Clare!

And also I want to thank our team. Tom and Karen & Bethany who planned and made our trip happen. As well as drive the van and got us where we needed safely. It was very comforting to Josh and I that we were in good hands, especially with the three littles in tow. And it was fun having Josiah and Mercy along for the ride as well, the kids enjoyed having their cousins around.

And all the staff at the Day Care, it was a pleasure getting to meet you all. Your work is changing a generation. Keep up the good work, and on days you feel discouraged, we are thinking/praying for you!

And thank you Josh for planning an excellent trip out West and for putting up with me the entire 12 days we were away (And it was meant to be 11!). I couldn't have had a better man to go on this crazy awesome adventure with.

Words or photos cannot express how amazing this trip truly was. I am so excited already about the next adventure our family takes. And I was so thankful our kids traveled so well.

Thanks for following along.

Melissa
